Brooklyn is home to many private and public schools, including elementary, middle and high schools. The borough is also home to a number of institutions and universities.

Brooklyn features a combination of traditional neighborhood schools, magnet schools, and charter schools for its public schools. While the majority of borough's public schools are managed by the New York City Department of Education (NYCDE), there are a few charter schools that are privately funded and run independently.
